Terms & Conditions
1. Introduction
1.1 These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern all in-store purchases made from Keighley Gas and Electrical Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”). By purchasing goods in-store, you (“the Customer”) agree to be bound by these Terms.
1.2 These Terms apply to the sale of electrical appliances and related goods (“Goods”). They do not affect your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or applicable consumer protection laws.
2. Orders and Deposits
2.1 An order is deemed accepted once payment, whether in full or as a deposit, has been made and a receipt issued.
2.2 Deposits are non-refundable unless we are unable to supply the Goods for reasons within our control.
2.3 If the Customer cancels the order or fails to complete payment, we reserve the right to retain the deposit as a genuine pre-estimate of loss and to cover administrative costs incurred.
3. Price and Payment
3.1 Prices are as displayed in-store at the time of purchase and include VAT where applicable.
3.2 Full payment is required before Goods are released, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
3.3 We accept cash, debit/credit cards, and any other payment methods displayed in-store.
4. Collection and Delivery
4.1 Goods must be collected within the timeframe agreed at the point of sale.
4.2 Delivery may be available for an additional charge. Any delivery times are estimates and not guaranteed unless confirmed in writing.
4.3 Risk in the Goods passes to the Customer upon collection or delivery. Ownership passes only once payment has been received in full.
5. Returns and Refunds
5.1 Customers are entitled to a refund, repair, or replacement where Goods are faulty, not as described, or otherwise fail to comply with the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
5.2 We are not required to accept returns where the Customer has changed their mind, unless agreed at our discretion. Some Goods include a manufacturer’s warranty; if the manufacturer does not act within a reasonable timeframe, we will assist with warranty issues within the warranty period.
5.3 Proof of purchase is required for all returns.
6. Warranties
6.1 All Goods are supplied with the manufacturer’s warranty where applicable. Goods must be inspected by the Customer, or someone acting on their behalf, upon collection or delivery. Any physical damage or missing components should result in refusal of the Goods.
6.2 Any additional warranties or guarantees will be confirmed in writing at the point of sale.
6.3 This clause does not affect the Customer’s statutory rights.
7. Limitation of Liability
7.1 We shall not be liable for:
- minor variations in specification, colour, or design that do not materially affect performance;
- indirect, consequential, or economic losses.
7.2 Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for any liability that cannot be excluded by law.
8. Data Protection
8.1 Any personal data collected will be processed in accordance with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
8.2 Personal information will only be used to process orders, provide after-sales support, or as otherwise permitted by law.
9. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
9.1 These Terms and any disputes arising from them are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
9.2 The courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any such disputes.
